Interlude: Promises

“I want in to that building. It’s the cornerstone of their protection spells. I want it razed to the ground and everything in it destroyed.”

“If you can’t get in, how the hell are we supposed to manage it?”

Michelle glared at the man who dared to question her. These people were becoming tedious. “Oh, I’ll get in and when I do, I’ll take every last hope they have.”

Eva thought she couldn’t feel any more pain but there were so many things that she still loved. So many opportunities to make her pay. She’d cost Michelle her family. She was the reason Matt was dead. “I want Stephanie away from that woman. Bring her to me.”

The man tensed. “She can’t be trusted. Not yet. We just got started on her!”

“I don’t care. I want her brought to me. Now.”

“Fine,” the man grumbled. “Is that all?”

Michelle waved him away. “You may go.”

He would be the first to die, if the upcoming war didn’t manage it for her.

Is Michelle blaming Eva for Matt’s death? Michelle is all kinds of twisted. She’s the one who killed her own brother not Eva. I guess it’s easier to blame Eva than to own up to her own actions. What are they doing to Stephanie? So many questions and not enough answers.

She sure is. I don’t think Michelle is all there anymore. In her mind, he wouldn’t have been there if it wasn’t for her. They aren’t doing anything to her. But they are around her…
